Product quality

Use completeness to understand what product data still needs work.

A score can help prioritize catalog work. Its details explain more than the number on its own.

Does a complete product mean it is ready to publish?

Not necessarily. Completeness measures the configured criteria filled in for a product. Publication readiness is a separate status that may include blocking reasons. Review both on the saved record.

Completeness describes configured product criteria

Tabgrid can show an overall product-completeness result and details about applicable criteria, earned points, maximum points, and missing values. The criteria depend on how the workspace has configured product data.

An estimate is not the same as a saved result

Some views can show an estimated result for unsaved changes or when a stored score is unavailable. Check whether the UI marks the value as estimated and verify the saved product before using it as an operational signal.

Publication readiness is a separate status

A completeness percentage should not be interpreted as proof that a product can be published. Review the publication status and any blocking reasons shown for that product.

Use missing criteria to make targeted improvements

Open the details to understand which fields need attention rather than changing unrelated content to increase a number. After editing and saving, review the calculation and readiness again.

A practical review loop

  1. Filter for products that need attention.
  2. Open the completeness detail and identify missing criteria.
  3. Update the saved product data and required fields.
  4. Review readiness and blocking reasons again after the save.

Examples of completeness criteria

The exact criteria are configured per workspace and product family, but commonly include:

  • Required text fields

Title and description are filled in and meet a minimum length.

  • Primary image

At least one product image is attached and meets size or format requirements.

  • Category assignment

The product is assigned to a valid category in the hierarchy.

  • Required attributes

Attributes marked as required for the product family have a value.

  • Localized content

Translated content exists for each language configured as required.

  • Channel-specific rules

Fields required by a specific sales channel or feed are present and valid.
